Overview

Gate 0 ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Gate 0 platform, a youth athletic performance tracking application available on mobile devices and the web. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it.

By using Gate 0, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information provided by program administrators.

Account & Profile Information

• Name and display name
• Email address (for coaches, parents, and admins)
• Role: athlete, parent, coach, operator, or admin
• School, team, or program affiliation
• Age group or division

Athletic Performance Data

• Combine event results (40-yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump, pro agility, 3-cone drill, bench press, and others)
• Session timestamps and event names
• Historical benchmark data and improvement trends
• Leaderboard rankings within events and divisions

Usage & Device Data

• Device type, operating system, and app version
• IP address and approximate location (country/region level)
• Pages and features accessed, session duration
• Crash reports and error logs for app stability

How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to operate, improve, and protect the Gate 0 platform. Specifically:

• Provide and maintain the performance tracking features, leaderboards, and athlete profiles
• Allow coaches and operators to record and manage combine results
• Give athletes and parents real-time access to performance data and progress trends
• Send transactional notifications (e.g., score posted, combine started)
• Analyze usage patterns to improve app performance and usability
• Diagnose technical issues and ensure platform stability
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use athlete performance data for advertising targeting.

Data Sharing

We share personal information only in the following circumstances:

Within Your Program

Athlete results and rankings are visible to coaches and admins within the same program or combine event. Parents linked to an athlete account can view their child's data. Operators can see athlete names and current combine results during live entry sessions.

Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party vendors to operate the platform, including cloud hosting (Firebase / Google Cloud), analytics, and crash reporting. These providers access data only as needed to perform services on our behalf and are contractually required to protect it.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Gate 0, our users, or the public.

Children's Privacy

Gate 0 is used by youth athletic programs that include athletes under 13. We are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable state laws.

• Athlete accounts for users under 13 must be created and managed by a parent, guardian, or authorized program administrator, not the child directly.
• We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts independently.
• We do not use data from users under 13 for advertising or profiling.
• Performance data for minors is visible only to authorized program staff (coaches, operators, admins) and linked parent accounts.
• Parents or guardians may request to review, update, or delete their child's data at any time by contacting us at hello@gate0.app.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental or administrator consent, we will delete that information promptly.

Data Retention

We retain personal information and athletic performance data for as long as an account is active or as needed to provide services. Program admins can delete athlete records and combine events through the platform at any time.

When you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes. Aggregated, anonymized performance statistics that cannot identify individuals may be retained indefinitely for platform improvement.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) for all network communication
• Firebase Security Rules that enforce role-based access control at the database level
• Authentication required to access any athlete or program data
• Regular security reviews of our infrastructure and access policies

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion: Request that we delete your account and associated personal data.
• Portability: Request your performance data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Objection: Object to certain uses of your data, such as analytics.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience. We use:
